Abraham's Son: The Making of an American - A poignant and courageous saga of a 10-year-old German-Jewish boy's escape from Nazi Germany and its concentration camps, a fate his sisters and mother did not share. The boy, Henry D. Schuster, along with other exiled children, was sent to a series of German and French orphanages, just one step ahead of the Nazis. Humanitarian organizations as well as individuals like Madame de Rothschild, whom Henry remembers with love and affection, placed them on board ships bound for the United States where family or foster parents awaited. It's in America that Henry's story really begins. Henry was sent to live with distant relatives who resented his presence. His is a story of perseverance, living in the moment and making the best of a bad situation. It's a story of survival. In short, it?s the story of Abraham?s son, and his journey to become an American. Henry lives in Las Vegas and is the founder of the Holocaust Survivor's Group of Southern Nevada. This book is available in both English and German.
